This article presents part of the results of a research conducted with high school seniors, which identified their prior conceptions about astronomy and meteorites and proposed supplementary educational material based on the obtained results. The methodological approach relied on interviews with focus groups, comprising 6 to 10 students from three public institutions in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo. Data analysis was carried out following the methodology of content analysis and thematic analysis. It was observed that students' prior conceptions are deeply related to outdated or superficially, conceptual errors, and religious beliefs. This result supports previous research pointing to a lack of preparedness among educators to teach astronomy content, grounded in the absence of this type of content in their initial and ongoing education. Subsequently, using the collected data as a reference, a scientific outreach magazine was developed, encompassing students' perspectives and aiming for a greater alignment with contemporary scientific theories, with the goal of contributing to meaningful learning.
