ASTRONOMY IN THE CURRICULA OF COURSES THAT ENABLE THE TEACHING OF PHYSICS, IN THE STATE OF PARÁ

The present work is the result of research into the initial training curriculum for teachers of Physics, Natural Sciences with a qualification in Physics and Integrated Degree in Mathematics and Physics in the state of Pará. The objectives of this study were: to analyze and reflect on the curriculum of initial teacher training at HEIs in the state of Pará qualified to teach content related to Astronomy; analyze the PPC of Degree courses, which enable the teaching of Physics classes, at HEIs in the state of Pará; reflect on whether the subjects involving Astronomy include initial teacher training for teaching skills and abilities in Astronomy, in basic education, provided for in the BNCC. A descriptive and exploratory research was then carried out, seeking to show the reality of the initial training of future teachers qualified to teach the subject of Physics in basic education. It was found that only 36.86% of the courses analyzed offer subjects related to Astronomy. Therefore, it can be concluded that the results obtained explain the predominance of not offering content related to Astronomy themes in the courses analyzed in the state of Pará, which has a negative impact on the initial training of future teachers and, consequently, on the approach to this theme in basic education.
