Abstract

This article is part of a larger research and aimed to encourage reflections on the training of teacher educators, regarding the teaching and learning of Natural Sciences content, specifically Astronomy. What knowledge needs to be constructed so that these teachers can act autonomously in formal teaching spaces? How can continued training contribute to closing possible training gaps for these education professionals? The context of this research is part of the rapprochement between University and Basic Education, through the offering of a continuing training course in Introductory Astronomy, entitled “The Diary of Sky – Introduction to Astronomy Didactics for Basic Education teachers”, aimed at teachers from various areas of knowledge, in the Bauru-São Paulo region, in Brazil, and how this course contributed to giving new meaning to knowledge, through innovative practices.
